Moira McGrath is president of OPUS International, Inc., the company she founded in 1993 in response to the Food Science industry’s growing demand for highly specialized, professional executive placement assistance. Following graduation from Cornell University, Moira focused her early career on hotel and restaurant operations and management, which involved recruitment of hospitality industry executives.  This, in turn, led to interest in the deeper aspects of food as a science  -- and to the careers of the people who are the industry.
 
In related volunteer activities, Moira is serving her 10th year on Cornell’s Food Science Advisory Council, chairing that group in 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005. She is also serving her third year on the Advisory Council for the Department of Food Science at Texas A&M University.  In September, 2006, she began her three year term on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Food Technologists, and has been serving on the IFT Task Force on Strategic Development since 2005. In South Florida, she has been involved with the local IFT Section since 1996, currently serving as its Councilor.

She is an avid cook, having attended “boot camp’ in 2006 at the Culinary Institute of America in New Hyde Park, NY. Call her with your favorite recipes if you love to cook Italian food!
